Sable Island is a small strip of land less than a mile-wide whose only occupants are a herd of resilient, completely wild horses. This short film takes viewers to Sable’s shores through a narrator mysteriously enmeshed within the island to explore the never-ending cycles that make this strip of land a self-sustaining system where only wild horses have managed to thrive.
Drew Doggett’s award-winning short films are an extension of his still photography practice, created to give his audience an even closer look at his subjects and their unique perspectives.
BAND OF REBELS: WHITE HORSES OF CAMARGUE
Presenting sweeping panoramas of the horses galloping through the Camargue marshlands of Southern France, this video explores the relationship of the gardian caretakers and the horses. Dating back to the 1500s, the gardian’s role is a time-honored tradition based on mutual, earned trust and respect enabled by their history living among these wild animals.
The original score is composed by Christopher Ward, a multi-platinum and Oscar and Grammy-winning producer, arranger, and composer.

Dunes: Abstract Expressions
Layers upon layers of grand shapes, endless lines and subtle tonal gradients make up this short film by award-winning fine art photographer Drew Doggett as he creates a visual journey of the sand dunes in Namibia’s Sossusvlei desert.
These immensely grand mountains of sand create an ocean of simple structures with a complex relationship to light. Constantly evolving, they are consistent only in their physical makeup, as the wind ensures that the shapes we see won’t ever repeat themselves. Devoid of context, people, plants or animals, they are studies in abstraction.
The film is accompanied by an original score composed by multi-platinum and Grammy-winning composer Christopher Ward, who has produced World song recordings alongside Hans Zimmer for movies such as Pearl Harbor and The Lion King.
SAIL: MAJESTY AT SEA

The footage is accompanied by an original score composed by multi-platinum and Grammy-winning composer Christopher Ward, who has produced World song recordings alongside Hans Zimmer for movies such as Pearl Harbor and The Lion King.
